This qanun supercedes Aceh Qanun No. 5 of 2008 on Education Administration. The qanun states that the administration of education in Aceh is based on, among other principles, Islamism, nationhood, and Aceh (art 2). It also states that education is intended to develop students' potential in order that they become believing and God-mindful, noble, and knowledgable people (art 4). Moreover, it states that the National Education System in Aceh is administered in an Islamic and integrated manner, in order to achieve educational aims (art 5(2)).
