The plaintiff filed a complaint against the Governorship of Yazd and the Election Supervisory Body of Yazd Province asking for a temporary restraining order to suspend and remove Sepanta Niknam from the Islamic City Council of Yazd. The Court of Administrative Justice citing the opinion of the Guardian Council on the illegality of the membership of religious minorities in the City Councils suspended the membership of the Niknam.
