The applicant had encountered problems registering the birth of her second child due to her marriage certificate (dated 26 September 2001) not including her correct name. Accordingly, she submitted to the court a request for permission to change her name as it appeared on her marriage certificate, as well as a fee exemption. She was married on 26 September 2001 and lived with her husband and two children (aged 12 years, and 3 months).
The court, pursuant to art 33(4) of Decision No. 298 of 2003 of the Minister of Religion on Marriage Records, acceded to the applicant's request based on her producing to the court satisfactory proof of identity.
