This is a reference to a report by Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq in conversation with his disciple Abān b. Taghlib concerning restitution for bodily injury to a woman. Hossein Modarressi cites this reference in the course of his discussion about the authority of the Imam to determine correct answers when legal cases arose that appeared to contradict common sense.
