This is a reference to Abū Ḥanīfa's acknowledgment of Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq as being the most knowledgable person in religious law. Hossein Modarressi employs this reference to show how other Muslim scholars recognized Jaʿfar's mastery of Islamic law.
