Rhodes v. ITT Sheraton Corp., No. CIV.A. 97-4530-B, 1999 WL 26874 (Mass. Super. Ct. Jan. 15, 1999): Saudi law's "biases against women and non-Muslims"

In this case, the Massachusetts Superior Court denied the defendants' motion to dismiss on forum non conveniens grounds regarding an injury sustained by the British plaintiff that took place in Saudi Arabia. The Court denied the motion, reasoning, among other things, that the biases against non-Muslims and women in Saudi Arabia as well as the lack of certain procedural safeguards rendered that country's law inapplicable to the matter.
