In its preambular section, this regional regulation states that prostitution is contrary to religious norms, moral norms, and noble norms, adhered to by society. Accordingly, it prohibits prostitution activities in Lampung Timur (East Lampung), Lampung (arts 2-4). It also places obligations on the broader community to report, to the regent or an authorised official, any suspicion or knowledge of prostitution activities being conducted in Lampung Timur (art 5). Contravention of arts 3-5 can result in a maximum prison sentence of three months or a maximum fine of IDR 50 million (art 16).
