Editors are world-recognized scholars of Islamic law who hold a PhD, JD, or related doctoral degree in their field and are recognized by their peers for superior scholarship and publications in Islamic legal studies. Student editors work under the tutelage of these scholars during their period of study at Harvard or a partner program. Contributors are not experts in Islamic law, but they have interests and expertise in adjacent fields or in data science and AI to expand the corpus of primary sources and tech tools for building out the Portal’s collection and facilitating the digital study of Islamic law.
