Florida 2014/10 Senate Bill

This Florida Senate Bill prohibits courts from applying foreign law in their decisions if such law violates the state's "strong public policy." While not specifically making reference to Sharia or Islamic law in general, the bill aims to prevent the application of foreign law even when the parties might have chosen to do so, if such law interferes with "public policy of sufficient importance to outweigh the policy of protecting freedom of contract."
