Tarakan Municipal Regulation No. 21 of 2000 on the Prohibition on Sexually Promiscuous Behaviour

In preambular statement (b), this regional regulation states that sexually promiscuous behaviour is contrary to religion, customs and tradition, public order, and the values of the Pancasila ('five principles' - Indonesian state ideology). Accordingly, it prohibits all persons and groups or bodies from conducting, facilitating, managing places, and making available people for, seuxally promiscuous behaviour (art 2(1)). Contravention of this regulation carries a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment or a fine of IDR 5 million.
