Berau Regency Regulation No. 7 of 2003 on the Policing, Surveillance, Distribution and Sale of Alcoholic Beverages in Berau Regency

In its preambular statement, this regional regulation states the production, sale, and use of alcoholic beverages is contrary to religious norms, the impact of which results in the contravention of morality, and disturbs public life order. Accordingly, it prohibits people and legal entities from selling alcohol before obtaining a permit from the regional head (art 2(1)). Contravention of art 2(1) carries a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment or a fine of IDR 5 million (art 19(1)).
