Dompu Regency Regulation No. 3 of 2006 on the Prohibition on Producing, Circulating, Selling and Consuming Alcoholic Beverages

In its preambular statement, this regional regulation states that the consumption of alcohol is contrary to religious teachings, ethics, and morality, and is even considered a social illness by society. Accordingly, the regulation prohibits all persons and legal entities from producing, selling, purchasing, circulating, storing and consuming all types of alcoholic beverages, whether they be industrially-processed or a traditional type of alcoholic beverage (art 2). Contravention of this provision carries a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment or IDR 50 million (art 6(1)).
