Probolinggo Municipal Regulation No. 12 of 2006 on Commercial Sex Worker Countermeasures

This regional regulation prohibits prostitution, stating that commercial sex workers' conduct is amoral, and that it contravenes moral norms, religious norms, and legal norms. The regulation also makes provision for countermeasures against prostitution, including raids, temporary accommodation, the fostering and rehabilitation of commercial sex workers, and the provision of social assistance (art 5). The regulation prescribes a maximum penalty of three months' imprisonment and/or IDR 5 million for any contravention thereof (art 9(1)).
