Karimun Regency Regulation No. 6 of 2002 on the Prohibition on Sexual Promiscuity

This regional regulation is an example of a legislative instrument that, arguably, Islamises public life without making specific reference to Islam or religion (agama). It places a blanket prohibition on sexual promiscuity and prostitution in Karimun, Riau Islands (art 2), and stipulates a maximum penalty of six months' imprisonment and/or IDR 5 million for any contravention thereof (art 4).
