This fatwa states that creative rights are property rights that warrant the protection of the law and Islamic law. The fatwa also states that creative rights can become the object of a contract (either commercial or non-commercial), can be made the subject of an endowment, and can be bequeathed. Contravention of creative rights is haram (forbidden).
