The applicants submitted that their sister, Hj. Halakatani, A. Ma, had passed away on 2 June 2011, as evidenced by the issuance of her death certificate, dated 30 June. The deceased had never married and both her parents had passed away. The applicants requested that the court stipulate them as the beneficiaries of the deceased in order to access her funds.
The court acceded to the applicants' request on the grounds that they were the siblings of the deceased and were, therefore, eligible to be her beneficiaries.
