Hannah Hess is a past student editor at SHARIAsource. She is particularly interested in the influence of economic factors on the development of religion, and in turn, the influence of religious systems on economic development. Her thesis examined the adaptation of religious norms on gender and sexuality to different cultural environments. She received a BA in Near Eastern Languages and History with a secondary in Economics from Harvard College. Her language skills include Arabic, Hebrew, and French.
