Sohair Omar

Sohair Omar is a past contributor to SHARIAsource. She is author of Pious & Professional: A Guide for Muslim Women in the Workforce. She currently serves as an Interim Director of Institutional Research at Connecticut State Colleges & Universities and a Board of Director at Yemen Aid. She previously served as Deputy Director of the Illinois Finance Authority, Policy Analyst at the State of Illinois Office of the Governor, Co-Chair of Governor Quinn's Muslim American Advisory Council, Board of Director at the Somali Women Association of Illinois and Member of the Advisory Council of the Iraqi Mutual Aid Society. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago.
